In 2021, Metaverse has no doubt to be popular. Roblox, the first stock of Metaverse, was floated on New York Stork Market in March. Its marker value was over 38 billion dollars at first day. In July, Facebook announced that they would transit to Metaverse company in 5 years. Nvidia, the chip tycoon, had spent hundreds of millions of dollars in order to create Omniverse which is a simulation platform of Metaverse. MiHoYo spent 89 million dollars to invest Soul. Cryptovoxels, The Sandbox and Decentraland are all Metaverse platforms that have been rated best by the industry. NFT trading platform OpenSea and SuperRare cut a figure. GameFi Axie Infinity、Farmers World successfully broke the cycle. MIR4 suddenly took off in popularity.A series of happens like a rising wind and scudding clouds around Metaverse are truly busy. This makes “Metaverse” as an annual hot word in 2021.
However, what really is Metaverse?
In the situation by sense of sci-tech and sci-fiction, which needs to be explained layer upon layer, I considered that this sentence is the most appropriate expression of the question above, which is “Metaverse is a possible digital world that can let people join in and live in by digital identities. Thus, Metaverse is neither a real world nor a physical world. It’s a digital world, a virtual universe. Are the Twitter account, Google account that you owned digital identities? No, they are just digital accounts, which can only exist by depends on a reality person. However, the digital identities are independent and unique. Rely on digital identities in Metaverse, the setup of rules can be freely joined. Persons can interconnect with each other wealthy, and interact with each other timely and really. Like what Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook said, Metaverse is not the internet that we can watch in mobile phone or computer screen, but the internet that we can join in and place ourselves among it. In Metaverse, a decentralized identity system and a decentralized value system will be created. The identity system will become brand new social relations, and the value system will be brand new productive relations. Once the immersive experience is added, the real Metaverse is completed.
In the future of Metaverse, maybe a doctor can go to space by their digital identity, in order to support medical service to spacemen; Miners can reconnaissance in virtual space so that they won’t to stay in dangerous environment; Someone are expanding land, and planting, hunting for their rural lives; Someone flying, diving, discovering the miracle of the world with friends; Someone are gathering many excellent scientists to build a scientific base, so that to establish an engineering laboratory that for space discovering. A new life-cycle, also a new civilization will gradually show the bud from Metaverse, and then grow up.
The future of Metaverse will make our blood boil, and now Metaverse is bustling. The most focused words in 2021 are NFT, GameFi and so on. What are they? Let’s realise them.
